A Day in the Life: Vikki Whitefoot, Director of Recruiting – Consulting Services at LRS

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to lead a high-performing recruiting team in today’s fast-paced tech landscape, look no further than Vikki Whitefoot. As Director of Recruiting for Levi, Ray & Shoup’s Consulting Services division, Vikki is at the heart of helping companies across the country fill critical IT roles. Her role supports the Staff Augmentation division, essentially matching skilled technical professionals with clients who need additional hands on deck.

Vikki’s workdays typically start early, around 7:00 to 7:30 a.m., and often wrap up by 5:30 p.m. although no two days are exactly the same, especially with travel in the mix. Her mornings begin with reviewing the Applicant Tracking System (Tracker) to make sure all open jobs are getting the coverage they need. From there, she dives into recruiter activity, reviews resumes, coaches her staff, and crafts communications to both clients and consultants. She also spends time jumping on calls to stay ahead of upcoming needs. One of the most important aspects of her role is removing obstacles so her team can do their jobs effectively. Whether that’s clarifying expectations, helping a recruiter get a job posted in the system, or stepping into a client call when needed.

When it comes to planning her day, Vikki walks a fine line between being proactive and staying flexible. While she starts out with a general idea of what needs to be done, she’s always ready to shift gears when something urgent comes up because in staffing, priorities can change fast. Being able to flag what’s critical and remain agile is key to her success.

To stay organized and effective, Vikki relies on a mix of tools. Tracker is essential for managing client and candidate data, while Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, and Sales Navigator help her team stay connected and on task. She’s also constantly looking for ways to leverage new technology exploring tools like Microsoft Copilot to see what might make an impact. For her, it’s all about asking, “Is this worth my time, and can it help the team?”

Vikki works with clients across nearly every industry including healthcare, logistics, insurance, finance, and manufacturing, to name a few. “There’s really no cap,” she explains. “If a client needs tech talent, we’re in the conversation.” That variety keeps things exciting and challenging. On any given day, she collaborates closely with recruiting managers, technical recruiters, account executives, and her own leadership team. And when needed, she’s not afraid to jump in and support clients directly.

The most challenging part of her role? Balancing day-to-day problems with long-term strategy. There are always fires to put out, but she remains focused on helping the organization grow and evolve. It’s a juggling act getting the right people in the right places while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

What makes LRS stand out, according to Vikki, is the speed and care they bring to every interaction. Clients know LRS moves fast, delivers efficiently, and genuinely cares about the outcomes. The team is committed to being a business partner and not just a vendor. That means being open and honest with candidates, never ghosting people, and treating everyone with respect. “We don’t treat candidates like commodities,” she says. “We’re in it with our clients, and it shows.”

From early-morning logins to late-day strategy calls, Vikki’s days are filled with intention, energy, and purpose. Her leadership keeps the recruiting engine running and her people-first mindset is what keeps it strong.
